Yilan District Prosecutors Office and Yilan County Government Join Forces to Crack Down on Green Energy Crimes with Zero Tolerance, Fostering Dialogue and Co-Creation for a Sustainable Future
At this critical moment for promoting net-zero transformation and green energy development, the Yilan District Prosecutors Office and Yilan County Government jointly held the 2025 “Integrity, Efficiency, and Peace of Mind” Green Energy Industry Forum today (the 25th). The event gathered members of the Task Force for Combating Crimes Hindering Green Energy Industry Development, green energy enterprises, and officials responsible for green energy affairs, uniting efforts to build a clean and transparent environment for green energy development.
In his remarks, Chief Prosecutor Wang Yi-Wen stressed: “We will show zero tolerance for any illegal acts that obstruct green energy development!” Since launching the Task Force for Combating Crimes Hindering Green Energy Industry Development on March 28, 2024, the Office has established dedicated liaison channels to provide green energy companies with ways to report illegal activities. Prosecutors, police, and investigators have actively visited green energy businesses, and on December 11, 2024, convened the first Green Energy Corporate Compliance Risk Forum. Through these actions, the Office aims to combat illegal activities, ensuring a clean and transparent environment for green energy operations.
Lin Mao-Sheng, Acting Magistrate of Yilan County, pointed out in his speech that green energy is a vital national industry and a driving force for the county’s sustainable development, serving as a cornerstone for safeguarding a better future for the next generation. With recent media reports exposing various scandals, public-private cooperation is urgently needed. Acting Magistrate Lin emphasized that this forum continues the spirit of the integrity platform, using information sharing and risk clarification to help civil servants uphold principles of integrity while advancing their duties. This allows businesses to operate with peace of mind and realizes the goal of clean, efficient governance and shared prosperity in the industry.
The forum was jointly attended by the Yilan County Government’s Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, the Police Bureau, the Civil Service Ethics Office, the Yilan County Investigation Office of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau, Taipower Yilan District Office, and the Taiwan Yilan District Court. It was hosted by Yu Zhu-Jun of the Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, who gave a keynote on “Transparent Application Procedures for Solar Photovoltaic Projects in Yilan County.” Zhou Yi-Jun, Chief Prosecutor of the Office, also gave a keynote on “Distinguishing Lawful Benefits and Convenience in Healthy Green Energy Industry Development,” sparking in-depth exchanges and cross-sector dialogues to forge a firm consensus.
During the forum, representatives from government and industry actively exchanged views, highlighting the challenges and risks facing green energy development and jointly seeking solutions. This event was not merely a forum but a starting point for building cross-departmental cooperation and trust. The Yilan District Prosecutors Office will continue to stand at the frontline of crime prevention, working hand in hand with task force partners to safeguard the green energy industry. We believe that only through the protection of the rule of law and collaboration between the public and private sectors can we achieve a win-win future of environmental sustainability and industrial prosperity!
